Best Friends Poems

To ...... I love you dearly and will no matter what
You are my closest and very best friend;
Our love and laughter and our whisperings
To that there will be no end.

I know all about you and you know all about me
It's like my soul looking in a mirror sometimes;
Where on this earth would I be without you
As this journey through life we both do climb.

Sometimes it's up and sometimes it's down
But that's how life continually goes;
Hard work here, a problem there, a frown or a smile
But through it all our friendship grows.

You're a friend
For all times
If you planted hope today
In any hopeless heart
If someone's burden was lighter
Because you did your part
If you made someone laugh out loud
And kept their tears at bay
Then today has been
For you my friend
A very special day

--

You're still my friend when I am unbearable
You're still there when I'm crying;
You're still there when I'm the great unwashed
When I've spent the whole day sighing.

I get depressed and I know at times
You must feel like you're going mad;
Feeling for me and taking the stress
Especially when I'm really sad.

Good times roll sometimes and
When I'm feeling good;
I thank you and love you my best friend
As I knew I always would.

A friend gives hope
When life is low;
A friend's a place
Where you can go;
A friend is honest
A friend is true;
A friend is precious
My friend is you!

--

A true friend is what I call you
Standing by my side;
Through thick and thin no matter what
Without you I would have died.

You held them off to give me chance
That was a courageous thing to do;
I can't thank you enough my friend
I couldn't be here without you.

I'm really glad I've got friends
To guide and light the way
With ups and downs thank God I've found
Your friendship true each day
I hope I can someday return
The gift you gave to me
I never dreamed I'd have a friend
Like you have come to be.

Some of the happiest times of my life
Are times you and I spend together.
For deep in my heart I've considered you special-
One of my dearest friends ever...
Time after time I've enjoyed your nice company,
Warmed by the closeness we share,
And when there were days that I needed encouragement,
I knew you'd always be there…
Time and again I've been ever so grateful
For having a good friend like you-
A friend for all times, to confide in, to count on,
And treasure a whole lifetime through.
You're a friend
For all times

Our friendship means so much to me
I've bared my soul to you;
We don't need counsellors you know
Just a friend that's good like you!

Best of Friends

It takes a long time to grow an old friend
Quote by John Leonard
That saying is "Oh so true!" Years and years I've been telling you that
I believe it - why don't you?

Just because you're vain and won't admit your age
One day it will creep up on you;
You can't keep saying I'm your mother
I'll buy you a mirror that'll do.

Your cheerful smile
Your caressing hand
It’s the really simple things
That make your life look so grand

You’re a special woman
It’s in your eyes
I see the truth
There is no disguise

It’s your spirit
Maybe your soul
But my life without you
Would feel painfully old

You’ve been a true friend
I hope you stay
I would be so very empty
If you ever went away

Old and good friends share a piece
Of passion, pain, and pleasure
That no one else, no family can
Begin to know or treasure.

It's as if a secret room
Held their private store,
And every time they met, they could
Go through some special door.

It doesn't matter if they see
Each other every day,
Or years and years go by before
They come and go away:

The moment that they meet it all
Is there--the memories of
Fierce loyalty and times of need
And gratitude and love.

We've all heard that old saying you can
Choose your friends but not your relatives;
Well that's because they're more like us
And they don't hold us captive.

We can say almost anything
To a friend that's good and true;
They don't rush to tell mom and dad
Like brothers and sisters do.

May you always have love to share
Health to spare and friends that care.

You are my friend of friends, my confidant,
my closest companion. You are the one I turn to
for comfort when my heart is heavy and the first one
I run to when I have good news to share.
Through seasons and years, you've grown nearer to my heart,
and I want you always to know, my friend, how much
I love you.
