St Patricks Day Poems

--

There's a dear little plant
that grows in our isle,
'Twas St. Patrick himself
sure that set it;
And the sun on his labour
with pleasure did smile,
And with dew from his eye
often wet it.
It thrives through the bog,
through the brake,
through the mireland.
And he called it the dear
little shamrock of Ireland.
The sweet little shamrock,
the dear little shamrock,
The sweet little, green little,
Shamrock of Ireland!
Andrew Cherry

May these rich blessings be your due
A wealth of friendships, old and new,
Some service rendered, some solace given,
And gentle peace with God and Heaven.

--

To the land of his masters
a shepherd boy came,
But to conquer their hearts,
not to seek for his fame,
And now his blessed name is known
all the world wide,
And the glory of Patrick
is Ireland's best pride.

A dash of red, a dash of green,
a dash of the ole gaelic scene.
Shamrocks, beer, and Irish cheer,
St. Paddy's day is once a year.
Bagpipes blaring and kilts a-wearing
It's the greatest time of year.
Shamrocks guided the faith of Patrick
without the gene of Irish-kin.
When ol' Paddy's been adopted
the clovers gained a lucky fourth.

St Patricks Day Poems

--

May love and laughter light your days
and warm your heart and home;
May good and faithful friends be yours
wherever you may roam.

May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

Ah, Good Luck te ye, Good Luck te ye
here's some words I'm urged to say;
Leprechauns, shamrock and rainbows
And have a happy St Paddys Day.

More words...New York, mind me harp
Green hats, for sure and green beer too;
And drinking gallons of Guiness
It's the law, it's what you've got to do

Top of the morning to you
From the bottom o' me heart.
Erin go Bragh
(Ireland Forever)
Jon Bratton 2009

The beautiful green that is Ireland
People full of humor and fun;
If ever a land was totally blessed
Then God it must be this one.

Songs and laughter reach your ears
Everywhere you go;
Kissing the Blarney Stone
Hanging upside down-don't you know!
