Goodbye Mother

The best things said come last. People will talk for
hours saying nothing much and then linger at the door
with words that come with a rush from the heart.

How do you say goodbye
To someone you've loved forever;
I don't know what to do
Without you my dear mother.

This will my goodbye note
That you'll be in my heart always;
All the things that you have taught
I'll remember all my days.

I'll tell my children as they grow up.
Just how much you loved them; .
Passing on the things that I have learned.
With notes of yours-the creme de la creme! .

The reason it hurts so much to separate is because
our souls are connected.

Yes, I promise that I will do.
Everything that you have said; .
Surely there's more we ought to say.
Whilst you're lying in your bed. .

Formalities will go on and on.
They will all be sorted out; .
Please tell me that you love me.
Whilst you're still about. .

I've waited over forty years.
To hear you say those words, there are only three; .
Was it so very hard for them to pass your lips.
As they are the only ones that can set me free.

Goodbye Mother Poems

She went her unremembering way,
She went and left in me
The pang of all the partings gone,
And partings yet to be.

I Miss You, Mom

I used to think that people didn't need
their moms so much after they grew up.
But I've realized that's not true.
So often, when I'm making a decision,
I wish you were here
so I could ask your advice.
And so many times,
when something happens
that I know you would enjoy,
I wish you were here
to share it with me.
Now that I'm older
I've realized how special our relationship is.
And while I'm thankful for this bond,
somehow it makes me miss you more..
Mom, I love you so very much.

My dearest Mother I thank you for my life.
I am so glad that at one time you were my fathers wife. .

You've been there for me whether I've wanted it or not. .
So security I've always had but didn't give a jot. .

I hope that you have enjoyed the fruitage of your loins.
Whilst the ups and downs of life has used up all your coins. .

Thank you for the memories that I will always treasure.
Some of them were brilliant and were beyond any measure. .

What is a Mother?

A Mother has so many things to do
From washing, ironing, cleaning to tying a shoe.
She scrubs, she mends, she cooks and sews
She bathes the children and washes their clothes.
When they forget to wash their faces clean
And their clothes are the muddiest you've ever seen
Who repairs the clothes and scrubs them like new?
Of course, that is what a Mother will do.

Who becomes the doctor or the nurse when they are ill
Applying a bandage or giving them a pill?
Who becomes a teacher when a child has homework?
She must never her duty shirk.
Who becomes a detective to find a toy or a book?
For missing things she must look and look?
Who becomes a listner to every heartache
To every accomplishment that a child makes?
Who scolds their children when they are naughty
Or remind them of God when they are to haughty?
Who tends her family with love and patience, too?
Of course that is what a Mother will do.
