Breaking Up Poems

--

I can't believe our love has broken
I had felt it to be strong;
But somehow it has shattered
I know that I was wrong.

It hurts me nevertheless though
To tell you it's goodbye;
Maybe we'll never know the reason
Never get to understand why!

Just as honey to the bee is sweet
Your love did sweep me off my feet;
I've now stood up and cannot see
Whatever did you see in me.

--

It's sad to see it die-my fault all along
Please forgive me I am really sorry;
I've been too busy with all my plans
I've left you with all the worry.

We should've waited longer
Before jumping in with both feet;
Our parents were right all along
And now n'er will the twain ever meet!

Goodbye is not an ending
When you know that people care,
For miles may come between you,
But warm thoughts are always there
Goodbye is not an ending
But a different start for you,
A time for making brand–new friends
And seeing dreams come true
Goodbye is not an ending,
For you’ll find along life’s way
Within your heart you’ll always have
A part of yesterday.

--

Our history we have shared
Part of it together;
That chapter of our lives
Has now closed forever.

--

Damn and curses you might say
But that will not last for long;
You know as well as I do
That it has all gone wrong.

Best to finish right this minute
And call it the end of the day;
It's no good hanging on
There's nothing left to say.

The feelings we had are? Don't know where!
The love left with those too;
So I'm really very sorry
But there's nothing I can do!

Love is precious until it's cracked
Just like that Ming vase over there;
The crack is at the back and in the corner hidden
But there's no value left anywhere.

--

There are things that we never want to let go of, people we never want to leave behind. But keep in mind that letting go isn’t the end of the world, it’s the beginning of a new life.

--

Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward.

I'm letting you go I know, I know
I said I never would;
But I've moved on and you have not
You should have come with me you really should!
