Bereavement Poems

You are not alone today
Nor will you be tomorrow;
For warmest thoughts of those who care
Are with you in your sorrow.
And may it comfort you to know
Your loved ones are thought of too;
By everyone who shares the loss
Of one so dear to you.

Don’t search for me in some faraway place.
Don’t look for a smile on a strangers face.
Rather, seek me out in the summers sky
Hear my voice in a curlews cry.
Don’t yearn for me when the year falls around,
Nor see my footprints in fresh tilled ground.
Instead hear my laugh in a tumbling stream
My presence will soothe, in a warm filled dream.
No sadness, tears, no time to grieve.
I live all around, in the air that you breathe

You must be so proud of your loving husband
He was always so good and so true;
If he could say anything at all
He would tell you not to feel blue.

He loved you then and he loves you now
You know that he always will;
All those memories that you've shared
He will wait for you until!

Whilst he has gone though he wants you to live
The children will need their Mommy
They maybe grown up but life goes on &
Grandchildren will need their Granny!

God's Garden

God looked around his garden and found an empty place
He then looked down upon the Earth and saw your tired face;
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest
With the help of his angels they flew you to your heavenly place.

Gods garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best
He knew you were suffering, he knew you were in pain;
He knew that you would never get well on Earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough and the hills too hard to climb
He closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace be Thine"
It broke our hearts to lose you but you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you the day God called you home.

--

If tears could build a stairway,
and memories a lane,
I’d walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again.

The Life that I Have

The life that I have
Is all that I have
And the life that I have
Is yours
The love that I have
Of the life that I have
Is yours and yours and yours
A sleep that I shall have
A Rest I shall have
Yet death will be but a pause
For the peace of my years
In the long green grass
Will be yours and yours and yours

His Journey's Just Begun
Don't think of him as gone away-
His journey's just begun,
Life holds so many facets-
This earth is only one . . .

When I come to the end of my journey
And I travel my last weary mile.
Just forget if you can that I ever frowned
And remember only the smile . . .
Come To Me
