A rose once grew where all could see
Sheltered beside a wall,
And as the days passed swiftly by
Its branches spread, straight and tall.
One day, a beam of light shone through
A crevice had opened wide-
The rose bent gently towards its warmth
Then passed to the other side..
Now you who deeply feel its loss
Be comforted...the rose still blooms there-
Its beauty even greater now
Nurtured by God's own loving care.

You will still feel him
And hear him in your heart;
He didn't want to leave you
He didn't want to part.
They say that time waits for no one
And when it's time, it's time;
It never feels the right time though
Especially when they're in their prime.
Our hearts go out to you
We are here if you need a hug;
I think we need one as well
A dram or two as well we'll slug!
