I've looked almost everywhere;
And then I came upon this page
That covers the question "Are we there?"

Babies are Angels that fly to the earth,
Their wings disappear at the time of their birth;
One look in their eyes and we're never the same
They're part of us now and that part has a name.

That day of birth never to be forgotten
That look in their eyes when seeing the outside world;
Bright lights and feeling strange, better out than in they say
As their little toes and fingers slowly unfurled.

Birthday Number One
Is always very special;
Little boys and little girls
Blowing candles - weird expressions.

Bikes and hammers, dolls and prams
Are the orders of the day;
As the years fly by in real quick time
Celebrating each and all Birthdays

Teens are upon us and dare we say
Oh! What has happened to you;?
One day nice and then you changed
Into something quite anew.

Spots and tantrums by the dozen
The music is really loud;
Have you gone deaf all of a sudden?
But still make us really proud.

So have a good one it won't last very long
Before you know it you'll be twenty-one;
Finished schooling and got a degree
By then you'll be nearly twenty three.

You're (30) already, (son)
Nearly over the hill, oh my
And as you face advancing years
Unfortunately, so do I.

So let's make a deal together
We'll use the same party line
You're a smidgin' over 21 (You're a little under 21)
I'm not quite 49

For the big 4-0 when life begins
Or so I'm told!
Time is precious and use it wisely
Before you know it you'll be old.

It's only the body though
Our hearts and minds think and feel the same;
So when mad ideas come up
We are always in the game.

The change in attitude is where it begins
And life really does take a turn;
So enjoy the wisdom that those years bring
And don't look back for those to yearn.

Splash out and travel do the things you promised
Yourself many years ago;
All those who do that very thing
Are the Happy Ones don't you know!
